  • About the Owners

    Vivian and Julie Samuel have both worked extensively in the customer service and hospitality industry throughout their careers. Together they have 37 years’ experience where standards of high quality service have been crucial to their roles. As a couple they are passionate about hospitality and customer service and love good food. Both of these things should never be compromised and in today’s climate they understand that people expect more and are better experienced at appreciating where their money is well spent. As a management team they are committed to creating a dining experience that is excellent, offering exceptional service and exquisite cuisine.

  • Vivian Samuel

    Vivian worked for many years for The Oberoi Hotel in Bangalore, India, one of the ‘Leading Hotels of the World’. Managing several of the hotels outlets including the Continental and Thai restaurants, Vivian was responsible for their success not only as stand-alone restaurants but also as part of the overall success of the hotels revenue. Having trained to the highest standard and with an extensive knowledge of food and beverage, Vivian has, over the years, experienced the pleasure of serving guests such as Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Elton John and many other Indian celebrities, including Sachin Tendulkar. It is a pleasure for Vivian to welcome you to The Royal Indian.

  • Julie Samuel

    Julie has worked for many years in customer service. Her passion for high standards of service led to becoming a trainer within the corporate field and she worked for many years for a leading insurance company in this capacity. This offered the opportunity to work for two years in India where a love of Indian food, culture and hospitality developed.

    It was in India that Vivian and Julie met and were married in Bangalore, India in 2002.They live in Sussex with their two daughters.
